Description: Buck Jones (behind Tom Mix) was a very popular silent movie Cowboy Star. Along with Ken Maynard, Hoot Gibson and Bob Steele, Buck continued to be a very popular action cowboy star in the 1930s. In 1941, Jones signed a deal for one more Western series called Rough Riders. He died a year later from injuries resulting from a fire. After his death, Jones lived on through more than 160 film credits. His claim to fame was being one of the tough, gun-slinging Wild West heroes in B-Western movies. In that genre, he was a perfect fit. At one point he received more fan mail than any actor in the world. Fawcett and Dell published Buck Jones Comic Books.
